Some of my earliest memories are standing on a step stool in my mom’s tiny galley kitchen, begging to lick the brownie batter off the spatula. Every Thanksgiving morning, my grandma and I made an apple pie completely from scratch — crust and all — while the Macy’s Parade played in the background. In my family, food was never just food. It was how we showed up for each other.
That feeling followed me straight into my parents’ bakery, where I started working the counter at ten years old and didn’t leave until I was twenty-two. I learned to bake, to decorate cakes, and — my favorite part — to sit down with couples planning their weddings and help them find the flavor combination that felt like them. Between big family dinners and traditions built around the table, I grew up believing the best gatherings happen over food made with care.
These days, when I’m out with friends, I’m still the one photographing my plate before anyone takes a bite. Not for the ‘gram — because I can taste the difference when a dish was made with real love in it, and I want to remember it.
That Table for Two is where all of that lives now: approachable, seasonal recipes and creative bakes that feel special, not stressful. I blend the bakery know-how I grew up with and a genuine love for playful creativity, so you can cook, bake, and share with confidence. Pull up a chair — there’s always room for two.
